Jakarta, February 21, 2022 – PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero)/Pelindo, PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero)/KAI and PT Pos Indonesia (Persero)/Pos Indonesia synergize to improve logistics services to the public. The commitment of the three BUMN is stated in an MoU on BUMN Logistics Synergy which was signed on February 21, 2022.
The signing of the MoU was carried out by the President Director of Pelindo, Arif Suhartono, the President Director of KAI, Didiek Hartantyo and the President Director of Pos Indonesia, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi in an online event at their respective places.
Pelindo, KAI and Pos Indonesia agreed to formulate Indonesia's logistics vision for the next 5 to 10 years. Through this synergy, it is hoped that the integration of end-to-end logistics services will be realized, which includes containerized, non-containerize (bulk) and general cargo transportation services, by integrating logistics infrastructure between ports, trains, and land transportation, as well as integrating logistics services comprehensively. end-to-end to customers by implementing 3S, namely single document/data entry, single service level and single price.
In his remarks, the President Director of Pelindo, Arif Suhartono emphasized the importance of the collaboration of the three BUMN to be able to jointly realize good logistics services for the people of Indonesia.
“The collaboration between the three BUMN in the logistics sector, namely Pelindo, KAI and PT POS, will certainly present a great strength for the scale of Indonesia. We hope that with this collaboration, we can provide good, optimal end-to-end logistics services with high transparency," said Arif.
The President Director of KAI, Didiek Hartantyo, emphasized that inter-regional trade requires an integrated logistics system, both system integration and intermodal transportation integration.
"The signing of this MoU is the first step between Pelindo, Pos Indonesia, and KAI in structuring an integrated, effective, and efficient transportation system towards excellent service," said Didiek.
President Director of Pos Indonesia, Faizal Rochmad Djoemadi added that currently the state-owned logistics companies are trying to maximize the potential of each party and integrate it.
"This collaboration is in line with the transformation of business and products in the Company, where Pos Indonesia continues to make changes, developments and adaptations to information technology developments and hopes that this can support and provide added value in the logistics distribution process in Indonesia," explained Faizal.
For Pelindo after the merger, this is a step forward to collaborate with logistics players in developing and integrating the port-hinterland value chain, so that it can contribute to efforts to increase logistics cost reduction in Indonesia.
