Ministry of BUMN's TJSL Coordination Meeting, Pelindo Prioritizes Education, Environment and MSE Programs

Jakarta, 31 January 2022 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo is committed to running the TJSL program which focuses on three priority program areas, namely education, environment and MSEs. This was emphasized by Pelindo in the Social and Environmental Responsibility Coordination Meeting / TJSL Coordination Meeting of the Ministry of BUMN 2022 which was held on January 28-29 2022 in Lampung.

The purpose of the TJSL Coordination Meeting with the theme "Collaboration to Maintain Indonesia's Future" is to support effectiveness and increase joint commitment to the implementation of the CSR program in all state-owned companies. The coordination meeting which was held for two days contained activities including Focus Group Discussion of the TJSL Program, Preparation of the Master Calendar and TJSL 2022 Commitment, Launching and Inauguration of the Chair of the TJSL Forum and Gala Dinner with the Minister of BUMN. Pelindo is also one of the compilers and readers of the 2022 TJSL Program Commitment.

In his direction, Erick Thohir emphasized that the TJSL program in BUMN was focused on the education sector, development of MSEs, and the environment which included equal distribution of quality education so that Indonesian children would have easy access to science and technology, empowering MSMEs and ultra-micro to advance to class, and environment that is focused on nature conservation and reforestation.

"In accordance with the direction of the Minister of BUMN, of course we are committed to supporting and implementing the TJSL program that is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which focuses on three priority program areas, namely education, environment and MSE development," said Pelindo President Director , Arif Suhartono.

As a state-owned company that cares about the environment, Pelindo has implemented programs that focus on environmental conservation, including the Mangrove Planting Program, Coral Reef Rehabilitation Program and Tree Planting Program. Throughout 2021 to early 2022, there will be more than 600 thousand mangroves, 340 coral reef installations and the planting of 3275 trees in various regions in Indonesia. Apart from environmental programs, Pelindo has also implemented programs in the field of education and MSE development as the priority of the TJSL program.

"I want BUMN TJSL not to run independently or compete with each other. BUMN TJSL activities must be well integrated (managed) in order to create harmony of taste and can provide greater benefits for the community," said Erick Thohir.

On this occasion, the Ministry of BUMN also gave appreciation to Local Heroes or figures who played an important role in the success of the TJSL program to the people of Lampung.
