BNI Investor Daily Summit 2024, Pelindo Helps Government Build National Logistics Ecosystem

Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono reiterated that Pelindo plays an important role in supporting the government to build a national logistics ecosystem. One of them is by improving services in overcoming the flow of goods at the port.

Pelindo helps the Indonesian government in building a national logistics ecosystem, one of which is with a tough move to overcome the flow of goods at the port in the form of shortening port stay and cargo stay. Pelindo will encourage the port to become a transshipment between Indonesia and the world.

‘When we talk about logistics, we are talking about volume, scale, how the government, industry, and society strive to increase economic activity. If there is more activity, of course there will be more traffic, which in the end in a sustainable manner will definitely affect the reduction of logistics costs,’ Arif said in front of entrepreneurs as a speaker at the BNI Investor Daily Summit 2024 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) Senayan, Wednesday, 9 October 2024.

Arif then explained, Pelindo's support for the government for the smooth logistics route is also not playing games, for the past 10 years, Pelindo has actively supported infrastructure development throughout the country.

‘By shortening the port stay and cargo stay, Pelindo asserts that it will facilitate logistics channels which will lead to time and cost efficiency that can be reduced. In the end, infrastructure development will be more effective and can be immediately enjoyed by all levels of society,’ he concluded.
