Three Years of Advancing Indonesia, Pelindo Supports Maritime Tourism through Sail to Indonesia

JAKARTA, 23 September 2024 - As a form of commitment to contribute to advancing maritime tourism in Indonesia, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo - an integrated port service company in Indonesia, held Sail to Indonesia Goes to BMTH. The initiation of Sail to Indonesia Goes to BMTH coincided with Pelindo's 3rd Anniversary celebration which raised the theme ‘Knitting the Archipelago Advancing Indonesia’.
 
PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL), Pelindo's subholding appointed to manage the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH), in collaboration with the Sail to Indonesia Rally will bring more than 30 yachts from various countries to dock for the first time at Benoa Port, Bali, on 1-5 October 2024.
 
BMTH itself is one of the National Strategic Projects (PSN) where the BMTH Area I Development is currently being carried out. The BMTH Area I development includes several zones, one of which is the marina zone. In developing the zone, SPSL will work with partners who invest in water and land facilities such as yacht clubs, restaurants, and also yacht service stations with international standards.

‘We are very pleased that at Pelindo's third anniversary on 1 October, we can bring the world's yachters to Benoa Port through the Sail to Indonesia Goes to BMTH event. This is not only an important momentum to demonstrate the readiness of the national maritime sector in supporting the development of maritime tourism to the world, but also an extraordinary opportunity to showcase and promote Indonesia's leading tourism destinations, especially along the coasts and islands that are rich in culture and natural beauty,’ said Joko Noerhudha, President Director of SPSL.

According to Joko, the yachts that will dock in Bali come from various countries including Australia, France, America, England, and Canada. The presence of the yachters will be welcomed with various cultural arts entertainment, Indonesian culinary, and also music festival performances.

SPSL Senior Vice President of Corporate Secretariat who is also the Chairperson of the Sail to Indonesia Goes to BMTH Committee, Kiki Mohammad Hikmat, said various entertainments will be present throughout the Pelindo anniversary series held in Bali.

On the first day of Sail to Indonesia Goes to BMTH, 2 October 2024, there was a Local Band Fest featuring bands from Bali. The series of events began with Welcoming Yachter and welcomed by Puspanjali Dance performance. In the evening, a gala dinner will be held for the yachters, which is planned to be attended by ministers including SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi, and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.

On the next day, 3 October 2024, the Food & Culture Festival and Local Band Festival will take place. ‘We will present various food, beverages, and MSME products at this event, while accompanied by entertainment from local bands from Bali to provide excitement for visitors,’ said Kiki.

On the last day on 4 October 2024 or the highlight of the Sail to Indonesia Goes to BMTH event series is the Benoa Port Jazz & Culture Fest which will present national musicians including Ghea Indrawari, Adikara, Kunto Aji, Chandra Darusman (Karimata Band) featuring. Amelia Ong, and Padi Reborn. This music festival continues the success of the inaugural edition of Benoa Port Jazz & Culture Fest in 2014 at Development Area I, Benoa Port, Bali.
