Pelindo Regional 4 Holds Eid Prayer and Distributes Qurbani Meat

MAKASSAR, June 17, 2024 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) together with the Islamic Da'wah Development Center (PPDI) Pelindo Regional 4 held Eid al-Adha 1445 H / 2024 M prayers together in the Makassar Port area, Monday (June 17, 2024).

Executive Director 4 Pelindo Regional 4, Abdul Azis said that the implementation of the Eid prayer together this time was attended by all Pelindo Group employees in the Makassar working area and community members around the Makassar Port environment.

"Every year Pelindo together with PPDI Regional 4 always carry out Eid prayers together like this one," Abdul Azis said.

At the implementation of the Eid al-Adha prayer together this time, acting as Imam, Abdul Gaffar and Khatib, Abdullah Abd Talib.

After performing the Eid prayer together, the Pelindo Regional 4 Qurban Animal Slaughter Committee then slaughtered animals and distributed qurban meat at the Pelindo Regional 4 Service Housing Complex on Alauddin Street, Makassar.

Division Head of HR and General Services of Pelindo Regional 4, Basri Alam, said that this year his party slaughtered 11 cows and 4 goats to be distributed to, among others, the community around the port, security personnel, outsourcing personnel, and other community members who are entitled to receive qurban animals.

"Specifically in the Makassar region, we slaughtered 11 cows and 4 goats. But for the entire Regional 4, the total number of qurban animals slaughtered was 28 cows," he explained.He said that this qurban animal slaughtering activity is not just a distribution of meat, but also an opportunity to establish and strengthen the relationship between the company and the local community.According to Basri Alam, through the distribution of qurban meat, Pelindo takes concrete steps in supporting local farmers by providing qurban animals from nearby sources."This step is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy and ensure quality qurban animal assistance to the community," he said.This, he continued, is in line with Pelindo's commitment to support sustainable development in Indonesia. 

Through the Social and Environmental Responsibility (CSR) program, Pelindo supports the government's efforts to reduce poverty and improve the welfare of people throughout Indonesia.

It is hoped that the qurban meat distribution activity will not only benefit direct recipients, but also inspire all parties to continue to contribute in strengthening social relations.

Furthermore, it is also to increase sensitivity and empathy and strengthen awareness of the importance of supporting local farmers and communities in supporting sustainable development.
