Gresik, May 22, 2024 - The Chinese Consul General in Surabaya visited the Java Integrated Industrial and Port Estate (JIIPE) in Gresik, East Java, on Monday (5/13). This visit was also attended by the Acting Governor of East Java Province, Adhy Karyono, and the Regent of Gresik Regency, Fandi Akhmad Yani.
The visit of the Chinese Consul General is a form of appreciation for JIIPE as a modern and sustainable industrial area, while emphasizing the great potential of JIIPE in attracting investment from China. JIIPE, a mega project resulting from the strategic collaboration of PT Pelindo (Persero) and PT AKR Corporindo Tbk., offers modern facilities and infrastructure to support investment and industrial growth. With its strategic location and commitment to sustainability, JIIPE has attracted investment from several major Chinese companies, including Hailiang Group, Southeast Asia's largest copper foil producer, and Xinyi Group, which is one of the leading glass product manufacturers.
Pj. Governor of East Java, Adhy Karyono, welcomed the visit. "We are very proud of the recognition of JIIPE. This area is not only the pride of East Java, but also a strategic national asset. The provincial government will continue to support infrastructure development to facilitate access and accelerate investment growth," he said.
Gresik Regent, Fandi Akhmad Yani, added, "The local government, in collaboration with the East Java Provincial Government, is committed to improving infrastructure, including the construction of roads that connect directly to JIIPE, to support the growth of the area and attract more investors."

The Chinese Consul General's visit is expected to further strengthen JIIPE's position as a major investment destination and leading industrial center in Southeast Asia, as well as strengthen bilateral relations between Indonesia and China.
