Jakarta, February 7, 2024 - Pelindo guarantees port services to all service users to run optimally during the long holiday which coincides with the Isra Mikraj and Chinese New Year holiday periods, namely on February 8 to 11, 2024.
"We ensure that service activities in all Pelindo operational areas run optimally during the long weekend holiday. Coordination with various parties including port stakeholders continues to be carried out for the safety and comfort of service users," said Pelindo's Group Head of Corporate Secretariat, Ali Mulyono.
The momentum of the long weekend holiday has the potential to encourage an increase in the movement of people to travel on vacation by sea, especially in tourist destinations on the islands of Sumatra, Java, and Bali-Nusa Tenggara. Based on historical data, including the busiest passenger terminals during the holiday period are Tanjung Pinang Terminal, Tanjung Balai Karimun, and Tanjung Perak. Pelindo ensures that all passenger terminals are ready to serve passengers.
"Facilities such as passenger waiting rooms, prayer rooms, lactation rooms, body temperature checkers, and security personnel are prepared to ensure passengers remain safe, healthy and smooth," said Darwis, GM of Tanjung Pinang.
The same service standards have been applied by the Company during the last Nataru 2023/2024 holiday, with a total movement of 1.6 million people in 63 Pelindo passenger terminals spread from West to East Indonesia. In 2023, Pelindo has carried out heavy renovations at several passenger terminals such as Palembang Port, Biak, Bitung, Makassar and several other ports.
Furthermore, in 2024 Pelindo will also add X Ray at more than 10 ports such as Tanjung Balai Asahan, Benoa, Bitung, and Jayapura, to be able to improve services related to security, as well as continue renovating passenger terminals at the Ports of Ambon, Manokwari, Gunung Sitoli and Lembar.
"Pelindo is committed to providing 24/7 services for service users. Hopefully this long weekend holiday moment can be enjoyed comfortably with family," Ali concluded.
