Makassar, November 24, 2023 - A cruise ship measuring 150 meters in length and 16 meters in width carrying 412 foreign passengers including crew docked at Soekarno Pier, Makassar Port, South Sulawesi.
The Bahamas-flagged MV Star Breeze cruise ship, a country in the Caribbean Islands, arrived in Makassar after sailing from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, starting at 06.00 WITA and staying for more than 8 hours or until 14.30 WITA, November 23, 2023.
"We had a great experience to be able to dock at Makassar Harbor and were welcomed very well by the amazing crew, this is a great memory for me personally because I can see the local uniqueness in Makassar," said Captain Peoro Pinto.
The number of passengers reached 234 people and 178 crew members on the ship captained by Captain Peoro Pinto who was welcomed by Gandrang Bulo dance, a typical Makassar welcome dance.
"The arrival of this cruise ship is an important step to make Makassar Port an international cruise ship destination," said Tubagus Pattrick Tribudi Utama Iskandar, Corporate Secretary of Pelindo Jasa Maritim.
The foreign tourists then exited through the Port of Makassar's international arrival terminal after completing the digital immigration process through a barcode-based application.
