Pelindo's 24/7 Service Accelerates Rice Import Realization

Jakarta, November 12, 2023 - PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) / Pelindo helped the realization of rice imports whose unloading process was through ports managed by Pelindo. Services for unloading imported rice are carried out at ports from the eastern to western ends of Indonesia with a pattern of operating time 24 hours a day and 7 days a week (24/7).

"The pattern of providing 24/7 or non-stop operational services has been implemented by Pelindo since several years ago. This working time applies to all types of commodities to be unloaded, including rice. Here we want to ensure that the smooth flow of goods at the port is guaranteed," said Pelindo President Director Arif Suhartono.

Arif also added, from January - October 2023, we have unloaded imported rice at 16 ports managed by Pelindo by serving 138 ships and the volume of rice unloaded was 1,431,615 tons.

The unloading of imported rice was carried out at the ports of Panjang, Bitung, Tanjung Wangi, Teluk Bayur, Tanjung Perak (Jamrud), Lhoksumawe, Malahayati, Belawan, Dumai, Tenau Kupang, Tanjung Emas, Tanjung Priok, Balikpapan, Ambon, Sorong and Papua.

"Wherever the rice unloading process is carried out, the ports managed by Pelindo are in principle ready to provide 24/7 services and of course the smooth flow of goods can be realized if all related elements can also provide the same working time pattern," concluded Arif.
