Being the location of the Freeport Project, JIIPE is introduced at the Space X KAI Expo 2023 Hub

Jakarta - The development of the Java Integrated Industrial and Ports Estate (JIIPE) was showcased at the Hub Space X KAI Expo 2023. JIIPE itself is an integrated area in Gresik, East Java.

JIIPE is an integrated area with a total area of 3,000 ha. This mega project was developed by PT Pelindo (Persero) and PT AKR Corporindo Tbk.JIIPE industrial area covers 1,761 hectares (ha) with port facilities reaching 406 ha and a residential area of 800 hectares.

SEZ status provides additional incentives for investors. Benefits include lower income tax. Then, non-fiscal incentives include one-stop approval and permits, ease of shipping goods, and flexibility in work.The integration of JIIPE facilities, strategic location, and SEZ status will encourage the achievement of government targets to reduce logistics and other operational costs and make Indonesia an attractive investment destination.

The availability of utilities needed by industries such as power generation, water, waste management, gas supply, and telecommunications networks, makes JIIPE a major investment destination in Indonesia. JIIPE has brought in 17 tenants, including PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI).To note, PTFI is indeed building a smelter in JIIPE. As of August 2023, the smelter progress has reached 76%.
