"So that the Bakti BUMN can be felt by the community, not only through BUMN as a corporation, but also in direct contributions to society," he said.

Deputy for HR, Technology and Information, Tedi Bharata added, Bakti BUMN can also have a good impact on the company, in the form of increasing employee engagement with the company, as well as a form of employer branding for the company. "Volunteers are expected to continue to carry the spirit of contribution to society, both during the implementation of the BUMN Bakti Volunteer Program until they return to their respective companies. They also need to transmit this spirit to other BUMN employees," he said.

In Penglipuran Village, the Batch IV SOE Volunteer Program raised the theme of SOE Volunteers for Sustainable Indonesian Bamboo Forests. For three days, the 20 SOE and ESR Pelindo volunteers conducted various activities and stayed in the houses of the residents.

The activities included bamboo forest management, and bamboo utilization workshops. Volunteers also conducted teaching activities in several schools. In addition, they provided education related to tour guiding, photography and utilization of social media to promote Pelindo-assisted medium and small enterprises (MSEs) in Penglipuran.

Pelindo Deputy Managing Director Hambra said that the SOE Volunteer Program for Sustainable Indonesian Bamboo Forest is an implementation of Pelindo's Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program. "As a port manager, Pelindo continues to improve its services and focus on continuing the transformation within the company. But as a state-owned enterprise, Pelindo also carries out the mandate to support sustainable development programs that are evenly distributed throughout Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, Klian Adat of Penglipuran Village, I Wayan Budiarta is grateful for the presence of BUMN volunteers in his village, who provide a lot of education and new knowledge to residents. Especially for the bamboo forest revitalization program, Wayan explained that this program provides added value to the existence of bamboo forests in his village.

"The development of culinary businesses on the edge of the bamboo forest adds value to Penglipuran tourism. Tourists do not have to bother looking for drinks or snacks when visiting. What is certain is that the revitalization of the bamboo forest is done in line with the conservation concept that is already running," he said.

Susan, a volunteer from PT GMF Aero Asia (a subsidiary of Garuda Indonesia), said she had gained a lot of experience after participating in the BUMN Bakti Volunteer Program. "I was present among the children, and participated in teaching at SMK IV Penglipuran. During my two-day stay with the residents, I saw first-hand the pulse of Penglipuran village life. I don't know when I can repeat this experience," she said.

Previously, the 20 BUMN Bakti Volunteers for Sustainable Indonesian Bamboo Forests also conducted teaching activities at SDN 1 Tanjung Benoa. Pelindo Corporate Secretariat Group Head Ali Mulyono said, through teaching activities, volunteers can develop academic and social skills. "In addition to benefiting students, the experience as an education volunteer can also help develop their own leadership, communication and self-empowerment skills," he said.
