Pelindo Makes Indonesia Green, Coloring World Environment Day Commemoration

05 June 2023 - Coinciding on June 5 2023 with the theme GEBRAK (Simultaneous Clean Up Movement) Pelindo held a commemoration of World Environment Day in the courtyard of the Indonesian Maritime Museum, this event was marked by the symbolic handover of trees which are productive plants by the HR Director and General PT Pelindo (Persero), Ichsanuddin Usman to North Jakarta Mayor Ali Maulana Hakim.

In commemoration of World Environment Day, there were 3 activities carried out, namely planting productive trees in Regional 2 as many as 8,480 trees which were symbolically handed over to the North Jakarta City Government as many as 1,520 trees from TJSL Pelindo which is the Pelindo Green Indonesia program. The clean-up movement collaborated with the Pelindo Employee Wives Association (PIP), as well as planting simultaneously in 71 ports.

Ichsanudin Usman stated that Pelindo's Green Indonesia program, as a form of Pelindo's dedication to preserving the environment, made Indonesia green through tree planting activities that took place in 71 ports in Indonesia.

"We hope that the productive trees that are planted will not only protect the environment, but also the fruit can be utilized by the community," said Ichsanudin Usman.

Regarding tree planting activities, Ichsanudin also stated that Pelindo is not only paying attention to port-related businesses but also paying attention to environmental sustainability.

Ali Maulana Hakim in his speech stated that North Jakarta has a coastline that is about 25 km long. Most of them are business areas. For this reason, it is very important to protect the environment by planting trees so that the surrounding environment is maintained and also healthy.

"The trees that will be given will be planted in a number of location points and cared for so that they stay alive," said the Mayor of North Jakarta.
