Jakarta, 25 April 2023 - All passenger terminals managed by PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo are ready to serve the return flow of Idul Fitri 2023, supported by the existence of a Lebaran Transportation Post which functions as a monitoring and coordination center to monitor security and safety conditions during the homecoming and Eid return.
Group Head of the Corporate Secretariat, Ali Mulyono, said that the Eid transport post which is jointly supported by all port agency stakeholders continues to monitor all passenger terminals from April 7 to May 8 2023 and operates 24 hours.
"In facing the return flow of this year's Eid, we continue to optimize the service and performance of officers in the field to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers during peak times. Based on estimates from the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub), the peak traffic density of sea transportation backflow will occur from today," said Ali.
Until D+1 Eid, there was an increase in the number of passengers by 999,455 people. An increase of 24 percent when compared to the same period in 2022, which was only 805,418 people. The busiest passenger terminal for Eid 2023 is Tanjung Pinang Port with 116,461 travelers, followed by Tanjung Perak with 115,930 people, then Tanjung Balai Karimun with 68,111 people, then Makassar with 54,383 people and Balikpapan with 46,117 people.
