Ministry of State Owner Nation The Value of Pelindo Passenger Terminal Transformation Has Been Significant

Makassar, 8 April 2023 - The Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) assesses that the transformation of the passenger ship terminal carried out by Pelindo has been very significant. This was stated by the Assistant Deputy for Services and Logistics of the Ministry of BUMN, Desty Arlaini, during a visit to the Anging Mammiri Passenger Terminal as well as directly monitored the arrival of PT Pelni's ship, KM Binaiya, which arrived from Labuan Bajo and docked at Makassar Port at around 07.00 WITA, Friday (7 April 2023).

Also attending the visit were Pelindo Managing Director Putut Sri Muljanto, Pelindo Regional Head 4, Enriany Muis, General Manager (GM) Pelindo Regional 4 Makassar, Suhadi Hamid, and PT Pelni Makassar Branch Head, Yahya Kuncoro.

"God willing, if you look at the current condition [of the Makassar Port passenger terminal], it is very neat, in other words, the transformation of this ship's passenger terminal looks significant. There is an improvement, compared to a few months ago when I also visited this passenger terminal, when repairs were being carried out for the Temporary Waiting Room (RTS)," explained Desty.

So far, he continued, the people's mindset regarding passenger terminals for ships is not like an exclusive airport. "Well, if it's like this, the ship's passengers have received excellent service, neat, large and comfortable facilities are provided. So that passengers feel more respected and feel appreciated to get on board. Hopefully with [conditions] like this, there will be no more negative stigma for passenger ships," he said.  "Alhamdulillah, almost all the passenger terminals I have visited are okay and the Pelindo improvement in general has been extraordinary, great," he said.
