Pelindo Inaugurates Panglipuran Traditional Village as a Foster Village

Bali, 10 December 2022 - Supporting Sustainable Development Goals (TPB) number 11 concerning "Sustainable Cities and Settlements" and number 15 concerning "Land Ecosystems", coinciding with the opening of the IX Penglipuran Village Festival in 2022, which carries the theme Kalpataru: " Resurrect the Spirit of Environmental Conservation", PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo inaugurated Penglipuran Bali Traditional Village as the Company's Foster Village on Friday (09/12). The existence of Penglipuran Traditional Village as a Pelindo Foster Village, has started since 2017, where Pelindo has provided assistance in providing MCK, Balai Patok, angkul-angkul, and motorbikes for garbage collection. At the end of 2022, Pelindo will contribute to Penglipuran Traditional Village by supporting the Traditional Village revitalization program, covering the arrangement of Bamboo Forests in the Village area which is projected to become an additional tourism attraction for tourists visiting Penglipuran.

The Penglipuran village bamboo forest has been revitalized at an early stage with the addition of a bamboo forest gate/angul-angkul, an MSME area, bamboo fences, and bamboo alleys. Penglipuran Village as Pelindo's fostered village has received TJSL (Social and Environmental Responsibility) assistance from Pelindo in the amount of a total of IDR 1.38 billion which will be given in two phases, namely in 2022 and 2023.

In his remarks the Kelian Adat of Penglipuran Village, I Wayan Budiarta, expressed his appreciation, "We are very grateful to various parties who have supported the running of the programs in Penglipuran village, do not forget that I represent Penglipuran village. take care of it and we will promote it together.”

Pelindo Human Resources Director Ihsanuddin Usman, added "Penglipuran Traditional Village is part of the Pelindo big family, we have been fostering it since 2017 until now, there are several programs that we have provided in Penglipuran Traditional Village, namely the construction of angkul angkul, hall stakes, construction Public toilets, motorbikes for garbage collection and what is currently underway is the revitalization of the bamboo forest," said Ihsanuddin.

 "We hope that this bamboo forest revitalization program will further increase the number of tourists visiting the Penglipuran Traditional Village, so that it will have an impact on the welfare of residents in Bali, especially in this Penglipuran village," he added.

The opening of the 9th Penglipuran Village Festival in 2022 was followed by the signing of the Penglipuran Village Inscription as Pelindo Foster. Local and foreign tourists also participated in witnessing the event, observing the enthusiasm of their tourists who seemed to positively respond to festival activities and new destinations in this traditional village.
