Collaborating, Pelindo Maritime Services Signs MoU for Port Decarbonization

Tangerang, 19 October 2022 – PT Pelindo Jasa Maritim (PJM) which is a Subholding of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo collaborates with PT Solusi Teknologi Samudera (STS) in implementing decarbonization at ports through the signing of a related Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Investment Cooperation in the Development of Onshore Power Supply in the Pelindo Port Environment.

 

Shipping activities in Indonesian waters account for 19% of Indonesia's annual greenhouse gas emissions. Indonesia is the largest archipelagic country in the world, and has 2,459 ports, all of which are committed to converting these ports to conform to the new “Green Port” standard as part of the Republic of Indonesia initiative to reduce the country's greenhouse emissions and achieve Net Zero Emissions by 2060.

 

"Today we are carrying out an MoU as a follow-up to the Company's commitment to reduce carbon, towards the creation of a sustainable and environmentally friendly port," said Prasetyadi, President Director of Pelindo Jasa Maritim Subholding.
